Leather Goods to Last a Lifetime

Leather Goods to Last a Lifetime

Jose Pirul started working with leather as a hobby. Now, 5 years later, JP Leathercraft has evolved into a thriving and growing business. Working out of his home studio in Passaic, Jose makes quality leather goods such as Passport covers, wallets, ID tag holders and Field Note Notebook Covers.  Cut and sewn by hand, each item is crafted to last a lifetime.

Q: Tell us about how you got started with your company?
I started doing leather working as a hobby about 5 years ago, people I know (at work, family) started asking for me to make things for them and that's when I realize that I should be selling my work.

Q: What inspired you to start making your products?
The first time I made a something out of leather it was actually a knife sheath, I had someone make a custom knife for me and I wanted a custom sheath for it, when I realize that the custom sheath was as much as the knife I desired to try my hand at it. It wasn't the prettiest ever but it I did it my self and it did the job.
